P DIDDY SAYS FALZ IS A GREAT, BEAUTIFUL ARTIST CHANGING THE GAME AFTER SEEING 'THIS IS NIGERIA' VIDEO

When Falz put together his "This is Nigeria," chances are, the best he was hoping for was a cosign from Childish Gambino for interpreting his runaway success, "This is America" video in a Naija context. While he certainly did receive attention from the US, it came from an unexpected source.

Diddy took to his Instagram account yesterday to share a clip of the video - twice, in fact - with some kind words for Falz. "Sending love to Nigeria. So many great, beautiful artist changing the game," he captioned the clip. The two clips combined make up a total of over 2.6 million views.

"This is Nigeria" is directed by 23-year-old director, Iyobosa 'Geezy' Rohoboth who is best known for his work on Burna Boy's 2017 single "Boshe Nlo." The song itself is produced by Wande Thomas and sees Falz confronting the state of Nigeria which comprises of the missing Chibok girls, youth drug addiction, fraudulent pastors, a police force whose business hours end at 6pm and Nigeria's desperate need for electricity infrastructure among many others.
 
As of this writing, "This is Nigeria" is trending at #12 on YouTube with over 1.2 million views. It's not quite the 203 million views which "This is America" boasts but it is significant, especially when you factor in the over 2 million views Diddy attracted via his Instagram.
