David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are starters for a third film X-Files

Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny  For fans of X-Files , a trilogy on the borders of reality: he does not have the green light.
Speaking Saturday at the Paley Center for Media event in New York to mark the 20th anniversary of the sci-fi, David Duchovnyand Gillian Anderson said they hoped to resume their roles as Mulder and Scully in a third film X -Files.
"All the key elements are starters," said Duchovny, quoted by the Los Angeles Times . "Gillian and I want to. So the ball is in the camp of the 20th Century Fox."
The creator of X-Files , Chris Carter , is also up for a third installment, according to the actor, 53, despite legal problems with the studio that had delayed after 2008 X-Files - Regeneration.
The film was removed from the mythology of the government plot of the series in favor of an independent plot "monster of the week". However, critics did not like the film and had little success at the box office, earning only $ 68 million, compared with $ 189 million reported in the first film of 1998, The X Files movie.
Given the renewed for the franchise because of the birthday attention Anderson seemed optimistic about the idea that fans of X-Files can convince 20th Century Fox to give the green light to the third component.

Fox
"If we are encouraging fans that Fox is interested, then it's all good," said the actress of 45 years.
For the uninitiated, the X-Files followed the adventures of FBI special agents Fox "Spooky" Mulder and Dana Scully while investigating all kinds of business involving alien abductions, paranormal and other mutants and enemies of night.
The first part of the big screen followed the central plot of the series: a possible alien colonization of Earth. It remains unclear whether a new film would follow the "mytharc" but Carter mentioned in previous interviews that would be the case.
So fingers crossed for another film to do.
