Smith aboard City That Sailed
Will Smith will reportedly act under the direction of Shawn Levy in City That Sailed.
The After Earth actor is the star of the futuristic sci-fi helmed by the Night at the Museum director, according to Deadline.
The website reports City That Sailed is about a father and daughter in Manhattan who float across the Pacific Ocean on the island.
Audrey Wells is writing the script for 20th Century Fox while Will and James Lassiter’s company Overbrook Entertainment will manage production on the feature.
Shawn and Fox have worked together closely for years, as his company 21 Laps has developed numerous projects for the studio, including this summer’s The Internship with Vince Vaughnand Owen Wilson.
Shawn will also begin filming his Night at the Museum franchise for Fox early next year.
The director is reportedly considered to be an asset to Fox, as he signed an agreement to have his banner 21 Laps based with the studio for the next three years.
“Shawn’s boundless energy, ambition and effortless creativity make him the perfect partner,” 20th Century Fox production president Emma Watts revealed in a statement last December.
“We are lucky he continues to call Fox his home.”Will is also highly desirable at the moment and has recently been attached to several forthcoming blockbusters.
He is currently filming Focus and the star will also take on roles in 2014 releases Hancock 2,Bad Boys 3, and The American Can.
