Oscar winners 2016;Spotlight to Leonardo DiCaprio

Dicaprio finally wins an oscars + all this year's winners

This year’s Oscars look to have been a success with most people being satisfied with the winners – despite controversy leading up to the Sunday (28 February) night ceremony. Chris Rock didn’t shy away from the #OscarsSoWhite subject kicking in his opening monologue with jabs at both Hollywood and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
‘Spotlight’, the film about Boston Globe’s investigation into priest abuse, took home the top award for ‘Best Picture’. For his sixth nomination now, Leonardo DiCaprio finally won for an Oscar for ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’. His director, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, took home a gold statuette too for ‘The Revenant’. It was ‘Mad Max’ that stole the show though with its massive six wins from ten nominations.

This gripping dramatisation of The Boston Globe’s investigation into child abuse in the Catholic Church stars Michael Keaton and Mark Ruffalo. The film’s down-the-line style is clearly inspired by another journalistic classic, 1976 Oscar-winner All The President’s Men.
