Adele’s record-breaking ‘25’ release

Its official! Adele’s third studio album ‘25’ has surpassed all expectations with a reported first week sales of 3.38 million in the US. The record is the first ever album to sell that much in a week since the tracking of music sales began in 1991.

And that’s not all; in her native UK the album also made history and broke a couple of records. Official Charts UK reports that ‘25’ is the biggest selling number 1 UK album in the chart history with a reported 800 307 in single week sales. It sold more than the rest of the Top 75 albums on the chart combined, becoming the second biggest UK album of the year in just a week.
