Flavour, Sound Sultan, Chidinma & Professor collab!

Sweet like Shuga?

Nigerian chart toppers and music authorities FlavourSound Sultan, Chidinma and Kcee are collaborating with South African kwaito star Professor on the title track for Shuga (series 3), the hotly-anticipated sex-and-relationships drama that premieres in Nigeria on 1 December (MTV Base, DStv Channel 322).

The upbeat Afro-Pop song for the new series of Shuga has been co-written by the artists and Del B, who is also producing the track.

The song, titled ‘Sweet Like Shuga”, is about the temptations faced by young people and echoes some of the key storylines in the Shuga TV series, which finds its key cast members engaging in a whole range of risky behaviours from multiple sexual partners to unprotected sex, teenage pregnancy, gender based violence and failing to disclose their HIV status.

MTV Base has commissioned celebrated Nigerian music video director Clarence Peters to create the music video for “Sweet Like Shuga”, which will premiere exclusively on Spanking New on MTV Base(DStv Channel 322) in mid-November.  The track will also be available to download free on the Shugawebsite at www.shuga.tv and on leading music download sites.
