Drake dethrones bieber’s most streamed title

The “6 god” is now the new king of Spotify. According to analytics aggregator Kworb, Drake has surpassed Justin Bieber for the record of all-time most-streamed artist on Spotify; Spotify themselves confirmed the findings to Billboard.

Drake notched the record in less than a week and on the strength of one album. The album ‘Views from the 6’ first two weeks were spent as an Apple Music exclusive and smashed the charts with 245.1 million streams in the U.S. in the first week. ‘Views’ also pushed a million copies in two weeks making it the first album to go platinum this year. It’s also one of only two albums to sell more than a million this year - Adele’s 2015 release, 25, has also shipped a million copies this year.
