Move over Pitbull, there’s a new Mr Worldwide and his name is Wizkid. Starboy has been dominating the charts, he’s been scooping up collaborations left right and center, and now it looks as if the hard work is finally going to pay off.
Recent reports have suggested that Wiz’ is on the verge of signing a mega recording deal that will see him become the highest paid African artist in history. A source revealed that Universal Music Group has been tracking Wizkid for the last year and they added that the “Ayo” star recently sealed his new recording contract during his last visit to the States.
“There's something big coming up for Wizkid, and it happened while he was in America. The deal will be the biggest ever signed by an African, and signifies progress for the music business on the continent.”
Another source claims that Wizkid and his new label (Sony Music is also rumoured to be in the running) are planning a massive announcement to “spectacularly” reveal the deal to the rest of the world.
