NICKI MINAJ’S ‘ONLY’ VIDEO UPROAR
The people have questions. Nicki Minaj‘s lyric video for her new single “Only” has fans in an upoar, with some charging that the rapper and video director Jeff Osborne used Nazi-inspired imagery in the animated short.

The animated video depicts cartoon versions of Nicki and her “Only” co-stars, Lil Wayne, Drake and Chris Brown, in a military setting. An accompanying army flies red, white and black Young Money flags, which bare some resemblance to the red, black and white swastika symbol popularized by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany.
The video’s art is consistent with the song’s single art, which Nicki teased on October 26. When the track was released two days later, the strong sexual references made headlines, but now “Only” has been marred by this controversy.

Back in February, Nicki issued an apology to the family of Malcolm X after she posted a famous photo of the civil rights leader holding a rifle to promote her “Lookin Ass N—a” single.
“I apologize to the Malcolm X estate if the meaning of the photo was misconstrued. The word “n—a” causes so much debate in our community while the “n—a” behavior gets praised and worship. Let’s not,” she wrote on her Instagram. “Apologies again to his family. I have nothing but respect an adoration for u. The photo was removed hours ago. Thank you.”
On Sunday night, Nicki hosted and performed at the 2014 MTV EMA in Glasgow, Scotland.
MTV News reached out to Cash Money Records, Nicki’s record label, for comment but had not heard back at press time.
